I am a dual citizen of Japan and a EU country. My JPN Passport and Koseki Touhon etc…have my Japanese family name i.e. Tanaka, while my EU Passport has my father’s surname i.e. Siemens.
My wife and I will be having our first baby soon, and I would like the baby to have both nationalities. I am wondering if I will have difficulties as the birth certificate will surely only have the name Tanaka.
BTW the surname in my Japanese Passport is written as Tanaka (Siemens), while my EU passport only says Siemens.
I would appreciate any advice before I reach out to my EU country embassy (it allows dual citizenship btw) Thank you in advance!
