Sorry, I’ve tried to search for an answer to this but can only find info for people trying to do things like work online while in Japan.
I’m an ALT, but the single income isn’t cutting it for me and my husband. He wants to go back to the US, work for about 6 months and save money, then come back to Japan.
The issue is he’s my legal dependent here, and I know there are a lot of rules about how much income he can make and remain my dependent. Does that apply when he’s not in the country, though? We would of course like him to still be my dependent when he returns, for the health insurance and everything.
