Is this feasible? Magome to Narai in one day

Hi! I’m trying to nail down two days in the Kiso Valley as part of a larger itinerary for next May. We plan to stay one night in Magome and the next night in Narai, then head on to Tokyo. My husband and I are early 30s and decent hikers. I have done the Magome to Tsumago walk before – but overnighted in Magome and Kiso-Fukushima.

The plan would be to wake up early in Magome, depart by 8/9 and hike to Tsumago, explore for an hour or two and then proceed to Nagiso station. I’m looking at taking the local Matsumoto train / Chuo line from Nagiso station to Narai Station. It looks like the primary concern is that this train only comes through every 1-3 hours so we could be waiting around some time. Is there anything else I am missing?

Also, could anyone recommend a luggage forwarding service that you’ve worked with in the Kiso Valley?

TIA!
