recommended homestay programs?

This post was removed from r/japantravel and I was redirected to this subreddit. Even though it’s about traveling to japan for a week, not living there. And then it was removed from r/japanlife and I was redirected to this subreddit.

I do NOT plan on living in Japan just yet in my life, but this is where I’m being forced to ask this question.

I’d like to stay with a host family for a week in Osaka, Fukuoka, Tokyo, or Kyoto sometime this summer. I am having a hard time figuring out who to go for these things.
I’m 17 years old and an FTM Mexican-American. I have several reasons for wanting to do a homestay in Japan.
1. Since I’m close to graduating, I want to see how well I can handle living without my family.
2. I want to practice my Japanese, I’m at sort of a barely pre-intermediate level.
3. I’m gonna apply for a scholarship at an art school in Kyoto and Tokyo once I graduate in 2025.
4. Because of how much the U.S. government and politics and terrible healthcare system is pissing me off, I’m considering moving out the country, one of my choices being Japan.
5. 私は日本愛してるです ( ; ̄▽ ̄)
I’d like to be recommended things to know to go on this journey. Thank you!
