Itinerary check – Tohoku region winter

Hi Everyone,

I made a plan for my 2nd trip to Japan in Feb 2024 . Really appreciate to have some feedback on my itinerary! It’s fast-paced but “probably” do-able using the information on the Internet. I choose Tohoku since it will be less crowded and snow heaven. Please let me know if I still miss something! I do have the option to have 1 more day (12 in total) to add some level of flexibility

**Day 1:**

\- Arrived at 8:00 in NRT. Take the Shinkansen to Aizu-Wakamatsu

\- Visit Tsuruga Castle, Sazaedo Temple, Samurai Residence and Sake Brewery

**Day 2:**

\- Morning: Ouchijuku (try Negi Soba) and Daiichi Tadamigawa Bridge Observatory (optional)

\- Afternoon/Evening: Visit Kitakata for some Ramen and take train go to Sendai

**Day 3:**

\- Morning: Visit Sendai City, including: Sendai Castle, Zuihoden, Aoba Shrine and Daikanon

\- Afternoon/Evening: Move to Ginzan Onsen and spend the nigh

**Day 4:**

\- Morning: Enjoy the last minute of the expensive ryokan and move back to Sendai

\- Afternoon/Evening: Visit Matsushita Bay and the Sendai city (by night)

**Day 5:**

\- Morning: Yamadera

\- Afternoon/Evening: Hiraizumi (some temple hopping) to Morioka

**Day 6:**

\- Morning/Afternoon: Geibikei Gorge & Sanriko Rail trip (Miyako to Kuji)

\- Evening: Move to Aomori.

**Day 7/8:** Aomori visit, including: Hirosaki Castle, Tsuru-no-Mai Bridge, Hachinohe. Move to Akita on end of Day 8

**Day 9:** Visit Akita, including the dog farm, Kakunodate and Yokote festival (the only Festival available during the trip)

**Day 10:** Unplanned but probably go back to Tokyo at day-end

**Day 11:** Explore a bit of Tokyo in the morning and go the the airport
