This April my partner and I will be travelling from Hiroshima to Saikai to visit Ikeshima Island and plan on staying close to the ferry terminal for 2 nights. We’re sussing out transport options as we will have suitcases and are weighing up a few options based on what Google maps provides us –
\- Travel by train, and then a couple of buses; not sure how much luggage would be allowed here
\- Travel by train, and then one ferry; again not sure of luggage limits
\- Leave our luggage for a couple of days in Hiroshima with a luggage holding service, bring a backpack of essentials with us to Ikeshima for the 2 nights, and then pick up our luggage on our way back as our next stop after Ikeshima is Osaka
I’m leaning towards the 3rd option because the Hiroshima -> Ikeshima portion of our trip is the most convoluted, we just really want to visit lmao. I have Okay™️ language skills to ask IRL about luggage but I’d rather go with the easiest option
