I’ll be in Kyoto with wife and two Tweens and very excited to see Kyoto for our first time! Looking for tips and advice on the itinerary I’m working out.

* Imperial Palace / Nijo Castle
* Kinkakuji Temple
* **Dec 24 Sagano/Arashiyama**
* 10 am Sagano Romantic Train (not the Rich car, would it be too cold?)
* Bus -> Riverboat -> Arashiyama (2+hrs?)
* Monkey Park
* Bamboo Forest
* Tenruy-ji
* **Dec 25 Fushimi / Higashimaya day**
* Fushimi Inari hike
* Walk to Kiyumizudera Water Temple
* Walk to Higashimaya historic route
* **Dec 26**
* Nara or Himeji Castle? (Leaning Nara)
* Nara Park
* Nara Mochi
* ??
* Himeji is there more to do in that area, worth the travel time?
* **Dec 27**
* Breakfast and return to Tokyo via Shinkansen
