Anyone feel melancholic when buildings in Japan get flattened so fast?

Today I when to Tama city in West Tokyo to check out the filming location of my favorite movie. I saw some guy on Twitter going there a few years ago and apparently they allowed you to go inside and take some photos. So I went there, walked around the neighborhood, used my limited Japanese to read the random description of how to get there… just to find out that the empty abandoned land I have been walking next to for the last 5 minutes was the location.

I did ask an obaachan walking by to see if it’s actually the place, which she confirmed. The land was so flattened and ignored that plenty of vegetation has already been growing left and right.

This reminds be of another time I walked to the supermarket at night. I saw a flattened land which used to be a very antique and cute handmade shop. It was in only few days.
