Hi, we are travelling to Kyoto on 1st – 4th Jan, but we are afraid that some shops will not be opened due to the new year’s holiday. We have tried our best to find out if each of the places we are intending to go are open, but there are some that we will need the help of you guys!
Here is our itinerary so far –
Day 1 – we are touching down late evening, so we will be heading to visit GU at Avanti Kyoto to get extra winter wear & planning to get dinner from Don Quijote as most restaurants seem closed.
Day 2 – Fushimi Inari Taisha / Nishiki Market (will the shops be open on 2nd Jan?) / Tofuku-ji Temple / Gion
Day 3 – Nineizaka & Sanneizaka (will the shops be open on 3rd Jan?) / Kiyomizu Dera
Day 4 – Arashiyama / Tenryu-ji Temple
will appreciate if you guys will be able to enlighten if shops/malls will be open usually on the 1st/2nd of Jan during the New Years holiday thank you!
