Question about possible paths for software developer from a Latin American country

Hi!

I am from Ecuador, a small country in South America. I am 32 years old, single, with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering, and 3 years of experience as a back-end software developer. I am currently working remotely for a startup in Spain. My native tongue is Spanish; I speak English fluently and am studying Japanese in my spare time. I took the JLPT N5 in December and will receive the results in January.

I wish to live in Japan, maybe not forever, but at least for a couple of years. I was looking to get a job as an English teacher in Japan, then transition to a software engineering job, but since I am not a native English speaker, it does not seem possible.

Is the following plan feasible?: Get a student visa to study 1.5 or 2 years of Japanese language in Japan while I keep my remote job. Get to an N2 level in that time and then try to get a job with a Japanese company and hopefully stay longer.

Does it seem possible? Will I get in trouble if I keep my remote job while being a student in Japan? Am I too old (32 now but will be 33 soon) to try this path? Any advice is welcome.
