For domestic flight, especially if you check in electronically, you don’t need… anything at all. Nobody is going to check. At security you just scan ticket QR code, and same thing at the gate.
Just curious, do you also not carry any form of ID on you while in Japan? I was under the impression that every foreigner has to carry ID regardless of their status. Even diplomats carry their Japan issued diplomatic IDs.
Amazingly enough — when you fly domestic in Japan you don’t need to show any ID. It’s like getting onto a bus.
Shockingly, zero. I flew Peach last year and they didn’t ask for a single piece of ID throughout the entire process.
Nothing. Flew from nagoya to Fukuoka, nobody checked anything except my QR code for boarding.
