I just wanted to assess the salary and benefits I am getting in my job right now. I am able to save 2.5M to 3M yen in an year. How does it compare to average salary and savings.
Without saying your yearly gross we can’t tell. Also it depends on your lifestyle. Saving 3M with a 30M yearly is easy, saving 3M with a 5M yearly is tough.
Your question is irrelevant. I could save 5 mil a year, or I could save 1 mil a year. The question is is my savings in balance with the rest of my financial outcomes and expectations, and what should my immediate financial goals be?
I think you must know that is going to vary wildly. Job, age, family size, etc.
Might be better to ask the percentage saved while considering the above factors.
No one can give you the answer you are looking for.
google “average savings japan” and check it yourself?
Here we go…again, it’s flexin’ time!
I can’t remember where I saw the survey, but on average Japanese people said they aim at Y30 million at retirement, with a paid off home. That assumes 40 years paid into nenkin.
