Moving to japan as a non-traditional software engineer?

I’d like to move back after a recent visit. I used to be a JET and had a blast there, but came home to focus on family.

I was wondering legally what does someone w/ 2 years experience in big tech (not faang), w Bachelors of Art in an interdisciplinary environmental degree from a top US university need to do to get hired as an engineer? I’m a bit worried that technically for visa purposes I can’t work as an engineer in Japan , since I don’t have a bachelors of science or bachelors of engineering degree. Does immigration care? Do you all have any insights on the best way to get hired from abroad? I passed N3 back in 2019 and I’m probably closer to N2 level now just without the mastery of the kanji at that level.

Thanks for any insights!
