Japanese Payslips – why is every month so different?

I’ve been here since July… and every payslip I’ve recieved is different even though I’m on a fixed monthly salary. The salary is the same every month, but rhe the amount deducted seems to keep changing.

Some months it changes by a few thousand yen, other months it can change by around 20-30%. This month I’ve randomly had nothing deducted.

My company seems to have nobody on hand who can explain this to me (despite hiring large numbers of staff from overseas). I’ve asked multiple times but I can only get vague and meaningless answers…

Is this normal? Or is my company just doing a rubbish job at keeping books?

How can I objectively qork out what should be getting deducted so that I can check against the payslips?
