I work for the US government on a military base in Japan. But I want to take a part time job off base with a Japanese company. The company wants to hire me but Japan has a new rule that requires all new employees submit their mynumber/individual number. Because I am SOFA I am unable to get a My Number. Is there a certain form I have to fill out to exclude me from this requirement? The company did not know how to hire a SOFA member and I have called the japan tax office and my local city hall. Nobody has given me answer on how I can get hired. I am aware that I will have to pay a lot of taxes if hired but I dont care and I just want to work this job for fun.
