Does anyone know why police cars in Japan often have their lights flashing for no apparent reason? I see it regularly.
As a driver it can be confusing. I once had a police car stopped behind me at a red traffic light and when it turned green and I moved, its lights went on, but with no siren. I pulled over and they just drove past me at normal speed, not in an emergency, and carried on.
Or is it just an Osaka thing?
Could it be that they are busy and just warning “Don’t do anything illegal right now, OK?”
