Customs: expensive gold jewellery

Hey all, I wear an 18K gold bangle from Cartier everyday. I paid about ~$6400 AUD for it but it can be valued to upwards of $10 000 AUD. I was just wondering whether I will need to declare it under ‘products of gold’ and whether it is included in the ‘articles of overseas value of more than 200,000 YEN’, meaning I will need to pay taxes and duties on it. It would not make logical sense for customs to make everyone pay duties and taxes for their personal items but the customs website simply says any ‘other article (purchases, souvenirs and gifts) with an overseas value of more than 200000 YEN’ attracts customs fees. I do not plan to sell it in Japan, just to wear it. Thanks in advance!
