Translated driving license expired, what should I do next ?

Hello everyone!

Idk if it’s just me but I can’t find proper information on what to do once your driver’s license translation expires.

I’ve been living in Japan for a year for my studies, and I got a translated driver’s license from the “JAF” website as to travel around.

However, I’ve read that the translation is only available one year from the date of your arrival in Japan.

So here’s my problem: I still have one year to live here and I want to continue driving but I don’t know what to do next.

* Should I get an actual Japanese driving license (if yes, what does it implies ?)
* Can I translate my driving license once again and renew the process for my last year ?

If anyone knows the answer, I would love to see it because I’m lost.

Thanks in advance !
