* Visit Nishiki Market and explore the surroundings.

* Full-day tour of Arashiyama following [japan-guide](https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3950_arashiyama_full.html): Monkey Park, Togetsukyo Bridge, Tenryuji, Bamboo Groves, Jojakkoji, Gioji, Saga-Toriimoto Preserved Street, Otagi Nenbutsuji, Daikakuji.
**3 Jan: (Relax Day)**
* Visit Osaka Castle.
* Explore Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, Namba, and Dotonburi.
**4 Jan:**
* Full day in Eastern Kyoto following [japan-guide](https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3950_eastern_kyoto_full.html): Ginkakuji, Philosopher’s Path, Nanzenji, Keage Incline, Heian Shrine, Yasaka Shrine, Kodaiji Temple, Higashiyama Streets, Kiyomizudera.

* Day trip to Nara: Central Golden Hall, Eastern Golden Hall, National Treasure Museum, Nara National Museum, Nandaimon Gate, Daibutsuden Hall, Nigatsudo Hall, Kasuga Taisha.
**6 Jan (Sat):**
* Visit Himeji Castle and explore Kobe.
**7 Jan (Sun):**
* Consider a day trip to Koyasan or use it as a spare day for Kyoto exploration.
* Alternatively, explore Osaka.
**8 Jan:**
* Depart from KIX in late morning.
