Question about COE

Hi! Apologies if this question gets asked over and over here. I was browsing some posts, but just wanted some input for my own situation.

I got accepted for a 4 month study abroad exchange program at Ritsumeikan APU in Beppu through my university recently. I was told that the university would apply for the COE on my behalf, but I was worried since it said that the exchange would be rejected if my COE application got rejected.

I’ve done searching on Google and as well as on this subreddit, and I’ve noticed some of the common reasons for rejection is not enough funds to sustain myself financially during my stay. I believe I was also asked for some bank statements of how much I had in my accounts. One question also asked how much I would be receiving in funds per month, with the minimum being at least 80,000 JPY per month. I wrote 100,000 JPY, and now I’m worried if I wrote too little. I believe my bank statement at that time also had about $18k-$20k CAD in that account. I saw in bigger cities such as Tokyo the recommended about was 150,000 JPY a month which is what made me worried I should’ve wrote more because I definitely have enough to sustain myself. For refer, I’m working full time in an internship position until the start if March, then I’d fly to Japan in the latter half of March for mt exchange.

Another thing I’m worried about is my educational history; I wrote down the campus where I mainly did my courses throughout my university classes (the campus I attend isn’t the main one) and now I am having self doubts if I should’ve wrote down the main campus instead.

I’ve asked a few of my friends about this since I was worried, and even my friend who is currently living in Japan told me now to worried but I am just worried about the possibility of my COE and student vida being rejected. Thank you for any input, and apologies if there are any spelling mistakes because I’m typing this from mobile.

  2. I wouldn’t be worried, I don’t think they’ll care about campus, and there are way cheaper places available in Tokyo than 15万円. I’ve seen a lot of Leopalaces for like 6-8万 or you could go in a sharehouse for a similar or cheaper price. Also remember that the yen is pretty weak now, so everything will feel cheaper.

I also put down 100k/month in my CoE application earlier this year and it was fine.
