I was watching Demon Slayer and noticed someone referring to their twin brother as ‘兄’. It got me thinking. Is there an equivalent to ‘twin’ in Japanese? Like if you didn’t know if your twin was older or younger, would you say ‘兄弟’ or ‘同生’ or something? Then I was thinking, why don’t siblings just address each other with their names? Is there a specific reason or is that just how it is?
