All the parlors I came upon were these video arcade like pachinko machines. Way to colorful and loud. Like watching anime half the time. Not that they were not fun, but it’s like searching for Pac-Man or Galaga and all you can find is Tekken 7 or Street Fighter 5. The gap is huge.
Anyway the article is a bit old, back in 2008 (2002 actually, it was a repost) and I went in 2018(ish). Are there any old pachinko parlors left in Japan right now? Thank you.

I recently got into pinball here in the US and I feel the same way. Maybe there are old pachinko heads somewhere that could help find some old machines or resources for you. I’m sort of interested myself as I’ve had the same impression of pachinko machines while I was there. Loud. haha
Oddly enough, a lot of old machines were [shipped to North America in the 70s](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/pachinko-machine-collection-1.6466202) when parlors in Japan were updating their machines.
