What’s the deal with the 40°C stopper on the shower temperature knob? The thing with the red button you have to push to get 100% of your water flow from the hot water pipe. It makes no sense with modern tankless water heater systems that let you set the max temperature, which you can only get to if you intentionally bypass that stopper button every time.
I get they might be useful for water systems that don’t have similar temperature control, but I’ve never seen a temperature knob without one of those stoppers. Like, is there a legal requirement that they all have that, and that law just hasn’t caught up to the reality of modern water temperature control?
That’s my biggest complaint about Japan right now.
