Hi everyone!
I searched through the subreddit for previous posts but didn’t find much, so I hope it’s ok I’m posting here.
I’m currently a development professional working in private fundraising for a French-based international NGO, we specialize in humanitarian aid. Some of my work crosses over with communications as well. I plan on being with my current job for a few years, but I’d like to experience living abroad in Japan in perhaps 5 years or so, where I can bring my Japanese skills up in the meantime. I’m about an N4 level right now.
My question is, is there any demand for NGO/NPO professionals in Japan? I know of JICA, but that is about it. Ideally, I’d like to remain in the humanitarian field, though generally I’m open to working for a variety of causes (animal welfare, LGBTQ rights, sustainable development, etc) Any insight, or knowledge of Japanese development job boards would be immensely helpful.
