Regarding the words 仕上がり and 意気込み

I was watching a pre-tournament interview with Japanese and English-speaking players to improve my listening. I noticed that the host often ask “この決勝大会の意気込みいかがですか?” and “仕上がりはいかがですか?”.

仕上がり and 意気込み mean “end result” and “enthusiasm” so it sounds weird if translated directly into English. As such, I was wondering if anyone here knows why the questions are phrased the way it is and how it should be localized in English.
