I am trying to buy a used car for the first time here, and I looked into the facebook marketplace/local groups first.I am currently to come to a deal with a guy, but some things he says sound fishy – according to what I read.While I can speak decent japanese, I can’t read/write kanji (well… I read some, but i can’t write them by hand lol), so I asked if he also knew someone who can interpret for the paperwork.
He said they (as far as I can understand he has a used car shop) can handle everything and hand me over the car in 2 days… but doesn’t the paperwork take longer, usually?Like, don’t I, personally, with my inkan, have to go to the local driving center/police station to register the change of ownership?

Just wondering what your experience buying cars is, to know if it’s even possible to do like he says, or it’s likely a scam
