I’ll try to make this easy. My visa expires 2/19/2024. At the start of December I asked my current employer, who I am contracted with until 1/31/2024, if they could help me extend. As my current employer will not be recontracting people (they going under) they said no. I have another job lined up and signed their contact to start beginning of February. I’m now working with them to extend visa.
I’d like to leave the current company early and not work until the 1/31/2024 date. I am going to ask them if they are willing to release me at an earlier date.
Will having a gap there affect my ability to renew my visa? New job is same category and I read you can have up to 3 months between jobs. I figured as long as I updated immigration about the job change (once I know when it will end) then I should be abiding the rules? Does this sound correct?
