Anything on tv tomorrow night (NYE)? I don’t watch tv usually but on the 31st we’ll watch something with the kids. Any guides you can link or suggestions? Not Kohaku pls😬
Why doesn’t Japan have Bonjela mouth medicine or at least an equivalent? Is there a banned ingredient?
I get mouth ulcers a lot due to medical reasons. The mouth ulcer medicine here is nothing but an overpriced, useless pain causing scam. Seriously the pastes hurt to put on and do nothing as they fall off the ulcer, the little red stickers work great for the pain then fall off immediately, the pills do nothing and don’t seem to make it heal anyquicker than when you just leave it. Salt waters okay but that’s all that works.
Bonjela though? That shit is heaven, its a god damn divine cure. Pain gone instantly, application painless and a tube lasts forever.
I’m not a neat freak, but I do try and keep my house clean and tidy (a lost cause of sorts when you have two little ones, but lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for sonetimes), if just to set a good example for my kids.
So am I the only one the enjoys doing the big year-end cleaning? It’s like you can draw a line and know “Everything was cleaned throughly over these 2-3 days, no doubt.”
Even my kids were surprised at the ‘lost’ toys the surfaced when they helped yesterday.
I got some family who plan to visit for a few weeks in the spring, and they don’t want to bring a ton of cash. They have credit cards with no foreign transaction fees, but I’m sure they can’t use that everywhere. Mostly I’m wondering how they can charge an IC card? The machines I’ve seen don’t seem to let you charge by card at the machine, and they don’t have iphones or anything where they can use mobile-suica.
Are JR East trains (in general) running on their standard holiday schedule on Jan 1st? Can’t find anything on their website indicating otherwise.
Gardening question! I have a potted lettuce plant which has tiny bugs on it that look like ダニ but I suspect are not. Can anyone help me identify these buggers and the best way to eradicate them? Thanks!
Edit: it’s Japanese spider mites. My friend recommended some stuff to use on it.
Will there be the usually gathering and count down at Dotonbori, Osaka for the new year? Or, is it canceled due to some restrictions?
Any cat volunteer work I can do in Tokyo in English?
Japan Cat Network moved to Nikko earlier in the year and there doesn’t seem to be any concrete plans to come back to Tokyo in the near future.
What’s the easiest way to dispose of a large box worth of old computer parts?
When I looked online, a lot of stuff is about recycling intact computers/laptops or returning to the manufacturer, but I’m not sure how to deal with parts. Also, not sure if the non-burnables collection will take the parts by themselves.
I lost my wallet yesterday. I’ve already filed a report with the police, but how long should I wait to start getting my stuff replaced?
I assume all the offices will either be closed or have a skeleton crew for the next few days because of New Year’s, but I don’t need to go anywhere until the 4th so I think it’s okay to wait for now.
