I clean my kitchen sink and drain once a month and everytime I have to deal with this thick black slimy mold-like substance which accumulates in layers on the cover and drain.

It feels disgusting to clean them. Is there a product or chemical which prevents the formation of such substance in the drain?

Buy some bleach based kitchen cleaner and once a day pour some down the drain.
Or I like using the toilet cleaning bleach containing gel because it sticks to the surface better and has the handy little nozzle to get onto the sides of the drain without special gymnastics. I just make sure she who would freak out never sees me do that. Also an occasional dose of pipe cleaner is always good insurance.
Might try cleaning more frequently. Once a week…
I just spray キッチンハイター in the drain every now and then.
Or カビキラー
Toss in some balls of aluminum foil under the cap

I thought it was BS but it works. Before doing this i had to constantly clean the drain for same issue.
Has to be kept drier if possible
I buy those little white anti-gunk tabs with attachment strings on them at the grocery store. I also use a net and clean out the trap every burnable trash day. It takes 30 seconds if you’re consistent. Once a month is not nearly enough. All drains in the home should be cleaned at least once a week, though sometimes I don’t get to the bathroom drains that often.
