Help with muscle building regimen products.

Hello everyone,

Semi pro fitness/muscle builder just arrived in Japan about a month ago.

I am having trouble finding supplements and protein at an affordable price. I am currently using iherb and Amazon per recommendations I got from friendly redditors but its quite expensive. I don’t speak or read Japanese well enough to navigate labels.

Hence I was wondering if you could all recommend japanese brands for:

Any kind of protein powder and supplements.
Looking for 30g of protein per serving. I used to take isopure but it’s too expensive here.

I am used to a creatine + caffeine pre workout powder and a solid post amino drink.

Lastly, I drank dark cherry juice with l thianine for sleep.

Are there quality japanese brands here that you like and recommend?

Thank you.

  1. Amazon has some protein too for cheaper it seems. Check as many websites and compare prices/shipping.

  2. From what I’ve seen the amount of protein in the Japanese powder is far less than what you find in other places (20-25g at best). The price is also much higher from my experience (not only protein, but any other supplement as well).

My recommendation would be too keep using iHerb.

You could checkout Costco. They do sell some stuff there (both Japanese and foreign brands), and the price is usually a bit better.

Edit: my experience with MyProtein is that the flavors don’t really taste that well… But others might have different opinions:)

  3. Costco for protein powder and vitamins will be your cheapest. Creatine you can find from Amazon and iherb for decent prices. Pre workout and other various supplements can be hard to come by for a good price but the other mentioned sites/sources are good for those.

  4. Protein prices have definitely spiked sharply upwards since the 2nd quarter of the year. Iherb was and is still my main hookup, but the gaping hole in my wallet is a little more gaping these days when I shop there!
