Hello,
Planning a trip for 6 people including myself for October of 2024. I do not have a full itinerary set yet but wondering if the basic outline is good or a bit to jam packed. My wife and I have been to Japan twice now, but the other 4 have not, so they are leaving the planning to me. This group likes to do everything together so not sure if we could do alone day trips or not. We would be in Japan as a group for 15 days. Feel free to mention if we should mix things up, nix places all together, go to different cities or towns. A lot of this I have see already but the others have not so I want to include it for them. Thank you everyone for the second set of eyes.
Day 1-4 Tokyo
Day 1 get into Tokyo and check into accommodation
Day 2 explore some of the areas of Tokyo (shinjuku, kabukicho, asakusa ) the exact places we visit will be determine by what the groups interest are
Day 3 possibly head to nikko depending on how everyone is feeling that day. Evening in rappongi
Day 4 half day in Tokyo maybe get tickets to sky tree for everyone in the morning, explore akihabara or something similar then catch a train to Kanazawa
Day 4-6 Kanazawa
Day 4 get to Kanazawa check in
Day 5 omochio market in the morning, then head to Kanazawa castle and then samurai district
Day 6 morning exploration of Kanazawa before we get back on the train for Hida/ takayama
Day 6-8 Hida/takayama
Day 6 get into Hida check in
Day 7 morning bike ride around Hida then head over for the fall festival in takayama
Day 8 head to Kyoto
Day 8-11
Day 8 get into Kyoto check in, see nijo castle and then head to gion district
Day 9 get up early head to fushimi Imari shrine or arashiama to n the morning. Come back and head to nisiki market. Head to Osaka for a night out.
Day 10 either arashiama or fushimi depending on what we did the day before. Head to nara for the early afternoon.
Day 11 half morning in Kyoto to explore then on the train.
Day 11-13 Hiroshima
Day 11 get to Hiroshima check in and explore at night
Day 12 peace park and Miyajima island
Day 13 back to Tokyo
Day 14-15 Tokyo
Day 14 explore Tokyo more
Day 15 morning to explore Tokyo then head to airport to head home.
