I’m a very new learner. I was wondering if there’s a way I can replace the system language (not keyboard) with romanji.
I mean the dream would be an app that is a bit pedagogical, I.e. sometimes replaces certain words / letters with other japanese characters. But anything will do.
As far as I can tell, the only option is the full blown Japanese, which would not be helpful at this point.
Unless you think I’m wrong and should just go for it. I know my way around the phone pretty well anyway.

Learn hiragana and katakana, it will take max a month, likely just a couple of weeks if you put the time in, then change it to Japanese, and maybe 30-50% of it will be readable. You will do yourself a great disservice relying on romaji, in fact I don’t really even know what benefit you would get from the change at all tbh, would be very confusing just a mass of English letters you don’t understand.
Relying on romanji just sets you back, I know it did for me.
Romaji*
Just learn kana, shouldn’t take more than a week or two
Don’t rely on romaji. It’s absolutely worth it to study nothing else for 2 weeks and grind hiragana / katakana. You will not make much progress without it.
To answer the question however, no you can’t. You can’t even make it entirely hiragana, because that’s not the language.
