Hi everyone!
I’ll be heading to Kyushu for 11days in Late April and would like some feedback on the rough itinerary that I had so far. Any feedback and suggestions are appreciated!
Day 1 – Land in Fukuoka and then head to Yufuin
– I’m planning to take the Yufuin No Mori Train to Yufuin after landing around 8am, would it be wise for me to attempt to take the 10am train or should I play safe and take the 2pm train to Yufuin?
Day 2 – Day trip to Beppu
– Visit the Beppu Ropeway in the morning
– Spend some time in Beppu during lunch and maybe visit some of the hells
– Have Dinner in Beppu before heading back to Yufuin
Day 3 – Head to Kurokawa Onsen
– Take the early bus to Kurokawa Onsen and spend the day there, exploring the Onsen town
* should I remove this from the itinerary and probably extend another day in yufuin? From what I’ve gathered so far, it will be quite troublesome and take much more longer if I were to head to Kurokawa Onsen and then Kumamoto.
Day 4 – Head to Kumamoto
– Visit the Kumamoto Castle, Suizenji Koen and Kumamon Square
Day 5 – Day trip out of Kumamoto
– Visit Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine and head back to Kumamoto later in the day.
Day 6 – Head to Nagasaki
– Visit the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, Peace memorial hall and Mt Nabekanmuri Park during the evening
Day 7 – Visit Hashima Island
– I plan to take a boat tour there so probably will explore the area around the pier before/after the visit to Hashima Island
Day 8 – Explore remainder of Nagasaki
Day 9 – Head to Fukuoka
– Visit Dazaifu, Fukuoka Tower and the Tenjin underground Mall.
Day 10, 11
Will probably explore more of Fukuoka and do some shopping before heading back the next day.
