There were a lot of wild Japanese gameshows back in the day. As someone living in America I haven’t kept well up to date on these types of shows. What I know of seems to be mostly mid-90s.

These days they have yearly scandals because they went too far with something like making that fat comedian gain weight because she said something about losing it.
