Heya! First of all: Happy New Year! I’m dealing with a clogged toilet situation at the moment (yay start of 2024), although I’ve had my fair share of solving these issues back in Europe – I’m noticing a bit of conflicting info on Japanese available products.
I headed in to the supermarket close-by and found the ‘drain cleaner’ (yellow bottle with red label) but got told by the staff that it’s only for sinks, not for toilets. My European ‘Bob the Builder’ mentality went into a “But .. it’s both a drain?” so I don’t see how that is any different. Not wanting to cause any damage or more trouble for myself, looking for recommendations or ‘best’ practices. I tried the dishsoap/hot water solution and although it smells great, it didn’t solve the issue at hand. I wasn’t able to find a plunger right away and do not have one at hand, with the stores being closed that’s the epitome of perfect timing.
