Hi there! We are an early 30s couple (31F and 32F) making our first trip to Japan at the end of March 2024. It’s my first time out of the country but my wife has been to 17+ countries (mostly English-speaking European countries). Just wanted to check our itinerary and see if any of it throws up red flags:
**March 19th (Tokyo):**
Arrive at Tokyo Haneda airport at 2PM
Stay in Asakusa.
After getting to hotel and unpacking, venture out for dinner and some light exploring if we feel up to it.

**March 20th and 21st (Tokyo):**
Recover from jet lag. Explore Asakusa, Ueno, and Akihabara. Build confidence in getting around and interacting with people.

**March 22nd (Odaiba and Yokohama):**
Day trip to Odaiba (Diver City and Unicorn Gundam Statue) and Yokohama (Gundam Factory)
**Question: Is this too much to do in one day?**

**March 23rd (Kyoto):**
Take Shinkansen to Kyoto. Stay in traditional Ryokan. Hoping to get a private Onsen here because we can’t go to public ones.
Go to:
Kiyomizu-dera Temple
Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
Samurai & Ninja Museum

**March 24th (Kyoto and Osaka):**
Go to Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine while it’s still dark in the morning so we can see the sunrise there and avoid the crowds as much as possible.
Day trip to Osaka
Eat some food, explore a bit, go shopping, then back to Kyoto at night.

**March 25th – 29th (Tokyo 2):**
Back to Tokyo. Stay in Shinjuku or Akihabara.
Go to Pokemon Center, thrift stores, otaku shops, explore Akihabara, maybe do some of this pilgrimage one day: [https://www.tofugu.com/japan/your-name-locations/](https://www.tofugu.com/japan/your-name-locations/)
Also we want to reserve a spot at the Pokemon Cafe one day.
Fly out at 7PM on the 29th from Tokyo-Haneda 🙁
Am I overpacking days? Underpacking? Some of the plans are more loose because my wife and I are both on the spectrum and sometimes we can only handle so much when it comes to crowds. My wife and I are both very into Japanese history and also Otaku stuff, so if I’m missing anything big here please feel free to recommend!
Thank you so much!
