Itinerary Check Please: Family trip for 29 days in March/April

Hi there (sorry, title supposed to read 20 days!)

We’re looking at the following itinerary for a family of 4 (kids are 11 and 9) – interests are food, shopping, markets, sights, culture, traditional gardens and fun! Not planning to do any of the large Disney/USJ parks, but will do the Osaka aquarium, and possibly a Ninja/Samurai experience somewhere, with some food tours, and bike rentals along the way.

Feedback appreciated – I’m a bit concerned it’ll be a lot of travelling for the kids, esp for the Takayama/Kanazawa part but hoping the longer stays in Osaka and Kyoto will help us rest a little! Would you leave Kyoto a day early and head to Takayama for 3 nights instead? I’m afraid Kyoto might be absolutely mental busy.

Thanks
