Hey all, as the title says.
I moved to Japan on an HSP(1) that was obtained through an immigration lawyer (corporate). I got all the paperwork done and got the visa.
In the meantime I have learned Japanese. Today I was doing some spring cleaning and I chanched upon my COE. To my surprise, I noticed it said I had 70点以上~80点未満 instead of 80点以上.
That’s crazy: I had 90 points at the time I applied and I still do now (nothing has changed). My hunch is the immigration lawyer just submitted the docs he knew would be easy approved (salary, graduation etc) and skimped on the other more subtle items.
I was planning to apply for PR this year but it looks like because of this I won’t be eligible.
Has anyone been in a similar situation, and do you know if there’s any way to retroactively recalculate the points when applying for PR?
