Heading to Japan next week. We are starting in Tokyo and ending in Kyoto, and currently plan to spent two nights each in Takayama and Kanazawa on the way down to Kyoto.
While it doesn’t appear to be too affected, the earthquake has caused us to reconsider Kanazawa. I’m also concerned that Kanazawa will be too similar to Kyoto.
We’re after nature, snow, onsens, good food, and a good few activities.
Would it be advisable to change our plans and head to a couple smaller onsen towns after Takayama (such as Okuhida and Nozawa)?
