Update: I checked back at the lost and found at 1:30 after lunch and they had located it! It’s going to be ready for pickup at Shin-Osaka. I’m not sure if my passport is in it yet, but I have high hopes! Thank you!
I left my purse on the Kodama shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto this morning. It was early in the morning and I fell asleep and forgot it. It has my passport. After going through all the trouble to find the lost and found and report it missing they told me the train was being serviced and they would have an answer if they found it at 12:30 today. Checked back at 12:30 and they said to come back tomorrow afternoon since the train was still in service. I feel like that probably means it’s gone and they’re giving me the run around.
Does anyone have any advice?? Should I go ahead and report it missing and go to the embassy? I’m stressed sick. Thanks in advance
