Half of the missing are from Wajima which was engulfed in a massive fire trapping people who evacuated to higher buildings amid tsunami warning.
The majority of the rest are from Suzu which was closest to the epicenter and was engulfed in a 5 meter tsunami.
There are also individuals listed from four other regions including Anamizu and Noto.
Most of the missing are over the age of 70 but there are some young individual including several teenagers and includes the range from 8 to 90 years old.
The prefecture says according to the NHK that some missing may be individuals who have moved out prior to the earthquake.
