So, I have an acquaintance, who was born and raised in Japan, and is well versed. I wouldn’t be surprised if she considers herself a Japanese. However, her parents are Chinese who came to Japan and eventually settled down in the country. She has been in the country and lived in it for like 21 years, but she still has the Chinese passport. She is considering finally getting the Japanese passport. In theory and in practice, how easy will it be for her to apply and be granted Japanese citizenship?
