Sad. The endless propagandized media “reporting” on Ukraine is warping people. Most Japanese have no idea what the real situation is.
Seems to me the charge of “trespassing” is based soley on the alleged “property damage”. In other words, if he was not believed to have done damage, it would have been fine that he was there. So “trespassing” is just utter bull and the charge is simpy abuse of authority by the police.
The property damage charge seems to have some passing merit. But trees can survive lots of nails in them and its hard to even find the hole after a nail is taken out. Several bugs and birds have surely done more “damage” in the last few days.
Yes, he has not been jailed, but “arrested” is still over the top for these “charges” and the police are way out of line.
All that said there is probably some law that covers all this much better, such as something about political advertising or protest on land without permission of the owner. But even that could have just been dealt with with voluntary questioning and an official warning.
“Sacred tree” 🙄
Can’t even curse people without the law trying to involve themselves smh
I hate Putin too, but you’re not supposed to nail stuff to the shrine trees and the owners have property rights
Jesus..
More of a social/moral issue, not a police matter, but given the reverence for the site, I can understand the charges. Just the wrong place for it, simply, not really something to be arrested for, maybe accosted.
No, he’s a hero. Let him be.
Also, this isn’t the first time someone is arrested for cursing someone in Japan, they should pass a law or something XD.
