Japanese Citizenship DUAL

Hi just wanted to try my luck on finding answers about my problem since I’ve been seeing replies on thread where they know a lot of Dual Japanese and Does the don’t ask don’t tell.

I hold a Japanese passport and a 3rd world country passport but I’m over the age of 22. I have no house or anything in Japan except the fact that I have a parent who is Japanese living with me **outside Japan**. I also dont speak Japanese. I have been a dual citizen since birth. When I turned 22, my dad had applied for me and my siblings for us to have japanese citizenship, went to the embassy and did all that but didnt understand a thing because I dont speak the language.

I have been using my other nationality for all my official processes since I have complete documents to support my existence such as birth certificate, parent’s marriage contract, properties, banks, education, government ids, etc…

Now that I am trying to live independently on a different first world country (western) I am having troubles with the immigration/visa question of **” Do you hold another citizenship?”**

If I answer yes, then it is technically illegal for Japan to have dual past the age of 22.
If I answer no, then I’m technically lying, am I not?

I have told my parents that I wanted to revoke my Japanese citizenship to start afresh as I work abroad and eventually apply for residency and citizenship and so on, but they have advised me that I should hold onto it until I get residency in the current first world country that I am in right now. Just so to have a back up plan in case all things go sour I will still have a “powerful passport”

Does anyone know someone who went through the same thing or had DUAL with Japan and applied for visas/residency in other countries and how did they deal with it. Thanks in advance!

Answers will surely help me a lot since I really am anxious. I just want to migrate peacefully.
