Hi!
I would love feedback on our itinerary while I have tons of time to learn more and adjust our plans.
Notes: We are a family of 4 (kids will be 9 and 13).
* I realize June is NOT the best time to go, but it what we’ve got.
* My kids will whine if we do too much walking or view too many temples
* Free time will be spent in air conditioned spaces like cafes and malls
* Hiroshima will be tough but my 13 year old is extremely interested in this part of history and wants to go.
Here it is:
Day 1: Arrive, accommodations in Asakusa
Day 2: Sensoji, Nakamise Dori, Train to Shibuya to see scramble, shibuya cat, and go to Rainbow Karaoke
Day 3: Meiji jingu, Harajuku area, then Akihabara and Bandi Namco (or other gaming center). If time, back to Omotenashi Nihonbashi for quiet craft.
Day 4: Train to Kyoto, then Samurai/Ninja Museum, Nishiki Market
Day 5: Arashiyama (cab to Otagi Nenbutsuji Temple and walk back down through preserved streets and bamboo). Yamamoto Roketsu Dyeing Studio. Day
6: Philosophers Path, Fushimi Inari Day
7: Day trip to Hiroshima Peace Park and museum. If time/energy, Shukkeien Garden Day
8: Train back to Tokyo, free day
Day 9: Free day Day
10: Depart
