Simple manga for practicing Japanese suggestions

Hi, I’m a (first year) student studying Japanese in university and summer break is starting to get near. I figured a good way to stay in touch with the language would be to read manga in Japanese! Manga is a big hobby of mine, as I’ve also slowly been building a modestly sized collection of my own (all in English though). So, I was wondering; does anyone know some good/simple series to buy in order to practice Japanese? All suggestions are very much appreciated!

  1. Starting with some simple children’s manga can help with this, or even picture books. I find Japanese picture books all the time at my value village. As for a good manga to look into right now, the manga adaptions of Ghibli films are super basic. Doraemon is probably the best bet for consistency.

  2. I can recommend よつばと (yotsubato), it is funny, uses simple language and has furigana for all words.

  3. im currently reading ふわふわシナモン (fluffy fluffy cinnamorol), super cute and great for beginners!
