Tokyo During Golden Week 4/26 – 5/1

Hello, here’s my itinerary for my upcoming trip to Tokyo during Golden Week. This is our second time in Japan. The last time I was in Tokyo was back in 2018. I didn’t realize we were booking a trip to Japan during a string of national holidays. I saw a number of videos and blog posts suggesting that we should not have booked a trip during this time. We broke the bank with our hotel lol but nonetheless we are extremely excited to go back. We’ve heard about the crowds and we plan to make the best of our time there! Please offer suggestions to remove or add an activity.

Looking forward to getting some help. Thanks in advance!

April 26 (FRI): Arrive in Tokyo 8pm. Going thru customs, getting a SIM card, riding the train into Tokyo will prob take 3 hrs? I guesstimate that we will be getting to Tokyo at around 11pm if we are lucky. I hope things are still open by then. Also saw we cannot get physical Suica cards. We plan on downloading the app and hope that it’s just as efficient. I assume it will take a while for us to arrive in Ginza area from NRT. Is 11pm a good estimate? We plan on taking it easy this night and grabbing a late dinner near hotel or ride train to nearby hustle bustle area with lots of eateries depending on our energy level.
