I work for a Japanese company and recently they told us that our December and January pay will be halved. They used to pay us for the month that we worked, for example in December we would get paid for decembers shifts, but they want to change to pay us in January for Decembers shifts. They didn’t give us a choice, they didn’t make us sign anything, they just told us they’d pay us half in December, half in Jan, then after we’d get paid a month behind. If I asked questions the company just avoided it or said there’s nothing they can do. But they’ve changed my contract without my consent, is this legal? And is there anything I can do about it?
