If you have no/mild symptoms like the vast majority of people, then there is no need to do anything. Just take a week off work, relax at home.
According to what I read on the GIfu Pref website, if you’re over 40, you’ll get a phone call, and if your symptoms are mild, you’ll be allowed to stay at home.
If you’re less than 40 you’ll get a text message.
Unless you have worsening symptoms, don’t bother going to a hospital.
My wife (pregnant), son (toddler), and I (serious underlying condition) all got Covid in one shot. We called the Hokenjo, and they set us up with the hospital near ochanomizu.
Let me warn you, while the staff has been great, we are stuck here, mandatory, for 10 days. No deliveries for food, no wifi, they charge for nearly every amenity. While I don’t regret it since all three of us have a reason to worry a little, we are going stir crazy. It’s ultimately up to you.
It feels like 10 years. We have been fantasizing about what we’re gonna eat first when we leave (portions here are crazy small).
Again I want to emphasize that the staff has been great to us, and we definitely appreciate being looked after. But I should also say it’s starting to feel like The Shining…
depends how you feel. if mild, don’t really need to do anything but chill out. no need of going to the hospital if symptoms aren’t bad.
Where did you get tested ? If this is a quick test site, I guess they want you to go to hospital because they are the one to handle cases. You should instead contact by phone the medical center of your area, they should know what to do and how regarding your specific : documentation for boss, medical support, survival supplies, economic support, … Wish you a prompt recovery
Given the amount of people I heard coughing at Gifu station today, you’re not alone.
Why do you need to go to a hospital? If your symptoms are not that bad, ride it out. Just order in food and don’t go out for a bit.
Just grab some medication from a drug store, get some pocari sweat, get plenty of water, some instant foods, cold pads for your forehead, and anything else for the coughing, fever, fatigue, etc.

Least a week or two worth.
