Moved from US to Japan 1 month ago. My daily steps have increased 3x-9x depending on the day.

I have always been an active person, however my wife being from Japan herself, was always trying to get me to go for a walk while in the states. Where I am from is incredibly rural but is very bland and boring to go for walks or hikes. Trails normally have weirdos on them doing inappropriate activities that shouldn’t be done in public due to the high drug problem in the town.

Moved to Japan 1 month ago and I’m on a walking/running frenzy. I can’t believe how much I actually enjoy this.

Average over 7 years in America per day

2020: 2,319
2021: 3,509
2022: 3,380
2023: 3,964

The first month I moved to japan I averaged around 11,319 steps a day my highest count reaching 19,943! Moving back here has been amazing for my health and I’ve been loving it. Hope to see some of you on the top of Fuji someday!
